“I know fully well your reasons, Madison.”

“So what then? It’s either you accept that I am not going to change or you don’t. There is no in between, mum. You have to make a choice.”

“It’s a difficult choice, Madison. I can’t just ignore my beliefs for the sake of your choices.”

“Wow. Okay, mum. It’s who I am, not a choice. But let me make this easy for you. Don’t ignore your beliefs for me. Whether you accept me or not, it does not change who I am. I just hope you don't regret it when I am gone."

  “When you’re gone?”

“When I head back to New York.”

“Your father said that you’re thinking about staying. Aren’t you still?”

Amanda would love for her daughter to be around more. Though she had objections towards Madison’s lifestyle, didn’t mean she loved her daughter any less.

“Yes. I was. But now I remember the reason I left in the first place.”

Madison rushed out of the living room before Amanda could say anything else. She headed up the stairs and into her room, deciding that she should be alone for a while.

Madison decided to kill some time by writing. She did not know what she was going to write, but writing always seemed to calm her down and gave her a fictional world to focus on—a world that was not her own.

She took her laptop out from her suitcase and opened it before turning it on. Tilting her head side to side, she inhaled a deep breath and slowly exhaled as the screen came to life.

Opening up a blank document, her fingers ran along the keyboard with ease. Her typing skills were remarkable, and her mind worked even faster.

“Madison. Sweetheart, can we please talk?”

She heard her mother call from behind her bedroom door. Madison sighed and rested her laptop down onto the bed.

  “Yeah. Come in.”

Amanda opened the bedroom door and walked in. She noticed the laptop on the bed and smiled, knowing that her daughter was, indeed, an amazing writer.

  “I wanted to apologize.”

Madison looked at her mother with furrowed brows. She wasn’t pleased one bit with Amanda’s disapproval.

  Who would be?

  “Okay. Is that all?”

“No. I wanted to talk about Victoria.”

Madison swallowed and her eyes widened.

  “What about her?”

Amanda walked over to her daughter, and took a seat next to her on the bed.

  “She likes you.”

Madison sucked in a breath as she began to feel uneasy.

  It really is obvious.

  “She does?”

Madison acted oblivious and placed the palm of her hand against her chest.

“You’d know, it was obvious how she flirted with you.”

  “Melody told you, didn’t she?”

Amanda was, then, the one to act oblivious.

“What? No. Of course not. Okay, maybe.”

She pressed her lips together, noting her inability to exceed at a poker face.

“So, have you come to tell me that I can’t see her? Or are you just here to state the obvious?”

Amanda sighed and bit down on the inside of her cheek.

“Your father and I had a discussion last night. And I promised him that I would give you a chance. So no, I’m not here as your usual disapproving mother. I’m here to tell you that you should ask her out.” Madison was confused, and a little perplexed. The conversation was more awkward than she thought it would be. But wasn’t she supposed to be thrilled? Her mother's consideration was just a tad too surprising. “I’m serious, Madison. Give her a call and take her to dinner.”

Madison pursed her lips and nodded.

“Actually, we already agreed on one.”

She closed her eyes, waiting for the snarky remark. But there was none. Instead, Amanda placed her hand on Madison’s shoulder and gave a soothing rub.

“That’s great. I really do hope you have fun.”

Madison could not believe her eyes, or ears. It was so surreal.

  “Yeah. Me too.”

“Do you want to head through town with me? We can get you a dress for your date.”

Madison wondered about her mother’s motives. There had to be a reason why Amanda was so easy going about the situation.

  “Yeah. That would be nice.”

But she could not refuse spending time with her mother. It had been a while since they bonded, and Madison found purpose in spending time with the ones who she loved.

Amanda and Madison headed into town. They stopped by Sweet Delights Bakery, and nostalgia enveloped Madison’s senses.

She had missed the beauty of the city in Italy, showcasing years of globally influential art, architecture and culture on display.

Rome was definitely a stunning place to call home. New York was nothing compared to the privilege of living in a city of such prestige. And with Madison’s mother making an effort to give her acceptance, she was more tempted to never leave.

After spending most of the afternoon venturing through the city, they finally went home.

Melody was waiting in the living room.

“Hey Muffin, where you guys been?”

Madison rested her bags down on the loveseat and tilted her head side to side.

  “We went shopping.”

Amanda responded before heading into the kitchen to grab something to drink.

  “Without me? That’s uncalled for.”

  Madison rolled her eyes.

  “You were at work, dummy.”

“Not because, you two could have waited for me.”

Melody crossed her arms over her chest and pouted.

“Yeah. So that you can open your big mouth and tell mum my business.”

The brunette gave her sister a bashful smile and ran her fingers through her hair.

  “How did it go?”

Madison sighed and took a seat next to her bags.

“Surprisingly good. What’s up with her?”

Melody shrugged and stuffed her fingers into the front pockets of her trousers.

“Just be happy that she’s coming around.”

“My two girls and myself in one room without fighting. That’s something beautiful, isn’t it?”

Amanda took a sip of her ice tea and sat down on her leather chair.

“You two better get dressed now.”

  “For what?”

Melody crossed her arms over her chest.

  “Dinner at Gloria’s.”

  “But I was planning to… planning to…”

Amanda tried to conjure up an excuse.

“I don’t want to go either, but we have to. She’s cooking and we’ll be family soon. So go get dressed.”

  “Okay.”

Madison grabbed her bags and headed up the steps and into her room.

“I’m driving you guys, so that I have an excuse as to why I can’t stay late.”

“Okay, sweetheart. Your dad will be here soon. Does he have to come too?”

“Yup. The entire Pierce family has been invited.”

  “How flattering.”

  “Tell me about it.”

Melody mumbled as she headed into the kitchen to get some iced tea.

  CHAPTER FOUR

  A Gorgeous Redhead

Carson never left her office so abruptly before. She headed home and took a hot shower, then climbed into bed. Her thoughts concentrated on Candy’s face, then to Madison’s face. They were the same person, yet they seemed to be so different. She ended up falling asleep with Madison’s face in her thoughts, and woke up sweaty and panting hours later.

Checking the time, it was 10:04 at night. The redhead never slept for so long, and felt mentally soothed. But her body was heated in places that never felt so worked up before.

Reaching for her laptop, she opened it and turned it on. As the screen came to life, she swallowed and ran her fingers through her red, messy hair.

Heading into her browser and typing in
the site’s name, she created a user account and signed up for their bundle offer, in which she had unlimited access to all videos for one month. It was expensive, but so damn worth it.

She scrolled through the videos and picked one. The tip of her tongue ran over the surface of her upper lip and her nipples strained as she noticed a video with a girl riding a strap-on.

Swallowing, she clicked on the video and rested the laptop onto her bed. Her breathing increased, and her panties immediately became damp.

  Fuck.

She tugged her tank top over her head and threw it onto the floor, before doing the same with her sweats. Being left in only her bra and panties, she turned up the volume on the computer and leaned backward onto her pillow. Her legs were spread and her stomach tightened with excitement.

  I, seriously, can’t believe I’m doing this.

Running her fingers down her flat stomach, she caressed her vagina over the fabric of her panties. Carson could feel the wetness seeping through the fabric and onto her fingers. She’d never been so wet by just touching herself before. It was bizarre and interesting. Her clit tingled with the rush of excitement through her veins. The computer’s screen had her full attention, and as she looked at the girl bending over the couch with her legs spread, a loud moan escaped her lips.

Carson slipped her index finger under her panties. Her vagina was soaked. And her pulse was racing. She sank her teeth into her bottom lip as a woman walked up behind the girl, the tip of her strap-on pressing against the girl’s butt cheek.

  Fuck.

The redhead inhaled a strained breath as her fingers slipped into her folds, the friction causing her clit to tremble. Her legs spread further, and her hips pushed upward. The wetness streamed down in between her butt cheeks, and the sight of the girl being fucked, made her knees give out on her. Lucky for her, she was lying down.

  This feels so good.

Carson plunged two of her fingers into her aching opening. A gasp escaped her lips as her mouth fell agape.

  This feels so, fucking, good.

Her pace increased and fingers moved deeper. The tips touched her g-spot and she squirmed. Ecstasy rippled through her body.

  This is too good.

Her walls tightened around her fingers and eyes barely managed to stay open. But she couldn’t miss a second of it. She’d never been in such an enticing trance before, and her body loved the feeling that the girl’s voice gave her.

  I’m gonna cum.

Carson’s jaw tightened and her back arched upward, as a rush blasted through her walls and all over her two fingers.

  Fuck.

She was only a few minutes into the video, and already had an orgasm. Panting and continuing to watch the screen, she took her fingers out and admired how they were coated with her juices. Carson placed her fingers inside of her mouth and sighed.

A smile formed on her lips as she propped herself up on her two arms and laid on her stomach. Unhooking her bra, she took it off and threw it onto the floor. Her fingers worked their way across the keyboard as she typed in Madison Pierce.

  She is gorgeous.

Carson exhaled a breath as she looked intently at the woman’s picture. She’d never liked girls. And the way she was feeling for this woman, alias or not, was unfathomed and strange.

Her erect nipples grazed against the fabric of the bedding. They were sensitive, which made her breathing inconsistent.

Carson shut off her computer and put it away before she got under the covers. In her dreams, Madison Pierce could be more real.

The next day, Carson went to do some shopping before heading into work. She browsed through one particular shop that she had always wanted to visit and bought a few items.

As she sat at her desk, she clasped her hands in front of her and closed her eyes. The day was packed with hours and hours of excessive workload, and she needed a break. But it didn’t seem as though her employees would give her some peace.

“Miss Jenner, we have the design for April ready. We brought it over at 2:00 yesterday, but you weren’t…”

“Stop talking and let me see it.”

Carson looked at the draft magazine in front of her. It was the new design that they would establish for the releases of April.

  “There’s a few…”

“It’s good.” The redhead let out a deep breath and raised her eyebrows at the two men who stood in front of her. They both had dark, shaggy hair and beards that should have been trimmed already. “You can leave.”

  They nodded and left.

Tilting her head to the side, she closed her eyes and thoughts of Madison Pierce entered her mind. It wasn’t anything sexual, just the smile that stood so playfully on the woman’s lips.

Carson displayed a smile of her own as she opened her eyes and looked up. Everyone was busy working. She sighed and took a deep inhale. Her sister’s dinner invitation was scheduled at 5:00, and she certainly did not want to attend. But, after all, she did have only one nephew, as her sister reminded, and she could never disappoint him.

She continued to work until it was 4:30, and decided that she should leave to make it in time to her sister’s place. Hurrying out of her office, the redhead gave a look over at her workshop and smiled. At least, everything seemed to be running smoothly.

Getting in her car and driving onto the road, the sunlight was beaming through her window, so she grabbed her sunglasses and placed it over her eyes.

Carson parked her car and headed to the front door. She pressed the doorbell and crossed her arms over her chest. Taking a deep inhale, the door opened and her nephew pulled her into a hug.

“Aunty Carson. I’m glad you made it.”

They headed inside and towards the living room. Her sister must have been in the kitchen.

“I’m here. Where’s your other half?”

“Oh, she’ll be here in a bit.”

“Okay. So it’s just us, right? No one else?”

Troy pressed his lips together and shook his head, making Carson groan.

“You’re not going to appreciate the crowd, but I do know that there’s some expensive whiskey in the basement.”

“I forgot to bring the wine.”

“Lucky for you, we’ve got whiskey.”

  That’ll have to do.

“Your mum’s not drunk yet, right?”

“Judge for yourself. She’s in the kitchen.”

Carson took a peek through the window and saw more people in the backyard than she could count on her ten fingers.

  Fuck.

  ⁑

THE DRIVE TO GLORIA’S house was a long one. Gregory sat in the backseat with Amanda and Madison sat in front.

Madison heard her parents whispering to each other, but it wasn’t in a flirtatious way. She wondered if they were talking about her.

“Maddy, I’m moving in with Troy but my apartment’s lease won’t be up till the end of the year. You can move in there if you plan on staying.”

The brunette continued to focus on the road ahead as she drove.

“Oh, well, that would be nice. You can show me it a day and I’ll decide if I’ll take it.”

“Nonsense. You have a home to stay at rent free.”

“Mum, I do like my privacy.”

  “Fine.”

Amanda mumbled and leaned back in her seat. Gregory placed his hand on her shoulder and she sighed. They both knew that they had to tell Madison what they had been keeping from her for the past year. She was back in Rome and they couldn’t keep the secret any longer.

“Madison, there’s something your mum and I have to tell you.”

“You’re seriously going to tell her on the drive?”

Gregory took a deep breath and rubbed the back of his neck.

“Last night I had to sleep on the bedroom floor, so yes. It’s time to tell her so that I can go home tonight.”

“Dad, what are you talking about? You moved out?”

“Your mother and I have been living apar
t for over a year now.”

“Really? I didn’t know you two are having problems. So, I’m guessing from the sounds of it, you two are getting a divorce.”

“Actually, we got a divorce six months ago.”

“Well, thanks for telling me six months after.”

Madison couldn’t believe her ears. They got divorced without even telling her.

“We didn’t know how to tell you.”

“So why did you get divorced? Did one of you cheat or something?”

Madison ran the tips of her fingers along the strap of the seatbelt.

  “No. Not that.”

“Oh sure. It was certainly not that.”

  Amanda mumbled sarcastically.

“It’s not to real reason we got a divorce, Amanda.”

Melody parked her car and inhaled a deep breath. The conversation already seemed to be heading down a slippery slope.

“Madison, I moved out to live with my partner.”

  So, he cheated.

  Madison’s eyes widened.

  “Who is she?”

Madison unbuckled her seatbelt and turned to face the two.

  “His name is Alejandro.”

“Doesn’t shock me any less the second time round.”

Melody said as she tapped her fingers against the steering wheel.

“Wait. What? You’re gay or bisexual or confused?”

Gregory placed his fist against his mouth and cleared his throat.

“After a very long time, I realized what was missing.”

  “Yeah, a dick.”

Amanda chuckled amused at how flushed Gregory was becoming.

“Really mum? I didn’t need to hear that.”

“Let’s head in, before they think we are going to drive off.”

Amanda opened the car door and stepped out. Gregory followed her lead.

  “Thanks for the support there.”

Gregory mumbled as the two walked up the concrete pathway.

“I’m a single woman at fifty. Give me a break.”

She groaned as she quickened her pace and left him behind.

"Are you okay?" Melody asked her little sister since she had been staring at her lap for the past few minutes. She placed her hand on Madison’s shoulder as comfort. “I’ve met dad’s boyfriend. They are happy.”

Madison inhaled deeply. It was just a lot to take in at once.
